SuperCasino – Playing by the Rules?

NetPlay TV’s SuperCasino brand always gives us the opportunity to create something visually stylish.

NetPlay TV’s SuperCasino brand always gives us the opportunity to create something visually stylish. With brand values that require edgy, cool urban sophistication, the challenge is to make something that stands out from the crowd, that doesn’t break the rules, and has great audience appeal.

Any production company that works with a gaming brand appreciates that the restrictions in “The Code” are there for a good reason and set boundaries for just how glamorous (or not) TV advertising can be in this genre.

In the past we have sailed close to the limit with this brand, because that’s our job, to push boundaries with the result that one of our SuperCasino commercials was withdrawn following a complaint to the ASA, despite having passed through the hoops of the normal regulatory process.

From our point of view, the work we produce for SuperCasino is amongst our finest, but interestingly the judges at many awards panels can’t bring themselves to reward these films, we guess because of the subject matter. But we did get a Silver Screen from the US International Film Festival for this film.

Director Mark Lediard wrote the original creative, and working with DoP Scott Coulter created some atmospheric images driven by an intense sound track and script. We also took the opportunity to shoot an explainer video at the same time, with the same presenter, which added to the online experience.
